I have a photograph of my Grandma May sitting in front of her garage where she had planted morning glories on the side wall. They exploded! These morning glories covered the entire side of my grandma's garage. It was breathtaking. Grandma died on Valentine's Day at the age of 99 1/2. She was living on her own, planting her flowers until the day she died. This painting is a tribute to her and includes many layers such as her handwritten notes, hymns, scripture, and poetry. It was created with layers and layers of paper and hand-painted rice paper, acrylics, and oil sticks. |
